Youth Cafe - Signing In and Out Procedures
We are so pleased to see so many young people attending and enjoying the Youth Cafe. This is not a Youth Club but a Cafe where young people, with their parents knowledge and consent, can attend during its opening hours and enjoy the activities inside over a snack / drink and are free to come and go whenever they feel like it.
However, with the darker nights we feel it would be safer if we have an emergency contact number and a signing in and out sheet for the young people to complete upon arrival and when leaving the cafe in order that we can simply keep a friendly eye on them.
We do not want to make it overly onerous on the young people but it is for their safety.
In the event, for example, a young person attends and does not sign out, we will then phone the emergency contact number they have provided to check that they have arrived home safely if they are travelling to and from the facility independently of parents. If the emergency contact number is not responding the emergency services will be contacted and potentially a missing persons alert may be issued.
The playing fields are an open space that the young people can use at any time but we would appreciate parents impressing on their young person the importance at this time of year of letting people know where they are; travelling in pairs if possible; providing an emergency number; and signing in and out so we have a record of their movements etc.
Thank you so much - there are some exciting activities planned in the weeks ahead in the Youth Cafe which the team hope the young people will enjoy participating in, not least, the Christmas Tree Festival.
